La Purruja

They have great food and a variety of American and Costa Rica menu items. Open daily around 11 AM to 7:00 PM. Happy Hour is 4:30-6:00 (sunset) and they have live music on select nights during the busy season.

Gregorio´s

Located at the south end of Avellanas, 2 minutes from the beach. They serve authentic Tico food that is amazing and very inexpensive. They have a pool table and TV’s.

SURF HUB Coffee & Gelato

This is a roadside coffee and gelato shop. They are usually open daily until nightfall, Barney or Jorgelina will be at the stand if they are open. It’s 1 kilometers from La Esquina de Avellanas. Best gelato in Avellanas.

Barumis’

Every night they are serving their special burgers menu, with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options, local beers, artisanal wines, cocktails, and desserts. Also offering a choice of pastries and bread, available for pre-ordering.

Il Rustico

Best Italian food around! You feel like you just came into the kitchen of your Italian friend's grandmother, you will be transported to Italy! Open only for dinner, we recommend making a reservation specially on weekends. Closed on Tuesdays

La Esquina De Avellanas

La Esquina de Avellanas has 5 restaurants for you to choose from, and a bar to have some drinks. Enjoy a nice meal surrounded by nature and, of course, our beautiful matapalo tree in the center of the project.

Lola’s

Never leaving the sand, you can sit and enjoy the ocean and a great relaxing meal. Comfort food and a little bit more. The setting is just perfect to spend the whole day there while having delicious fruit drinks.

SoulShine

This is a hotel and restaurant located on the main road in Avellanas. They serve truly amazing breakfast/brunch daily except Mondays. They are known for their homemade challah bread French toast and Shakshuka. Both are spectacular.

Cactus Restaurant

Located about 4 kilometers from Avellanas, just before the turn into Pinilla. They serve authentic Tico food with fresh local ingredients. A very casual atmosphere if you are looking for something less touristy with great food.
